An Education Around Gaslighting & Manipulation with Meghan Campbell

June 20, 2019

Today’s topic is one you’re either very familiar with from personal experience, or you might (fortunately) be a little unsure as to what something like gaslighting even is.

Either way, this is an important one, because you might not know you need this knowledge until you’ve already been deeply affected.

One of the reasons I wanted to have Meghan Campbell on for this discussion (other than the fact that she’s awesome!) is because there’s a lack of understanding around some of these issues, and education is power.  The more you know, the better you will be able to potentially spot behaviours like this sooner.

Meghan Campbell is a writer, speaker and coach who has been training in a professional capacity for over seven years, beginning with corporate talks on brand ethics, company values and leadership, and later moving into interpersonal sessions with groups and individuals. If she had a superpower it would be her ability to take big, sometimes intimidating concepts and ideas and break them down into something accessible and tangible.

Her aim is to help people hold themselves accountable, remain resilient and recognize what’s truly important in their lives. She’s dedicated to helping people close the gap between who they are, who they feel they have to be, and who they truly want to be.

Plus, Meghan and I are basically soul mates because when she’s not working she spends much of her time reading, asking people if she can pet their dogs and struggling to keep her succulents alive. (twinsies!)

On this episode we’re opening up a conversation around some sticky topics like some of the various forms of emotional abuse to better recognize some of the signs, including:

  • Gaslighting and psychological manipulation
  • How emotional abuse can sneak up on you without you even noticing, and breaking down the myth that it doesn’t happen to strong, independent people
  • The differences between boundaries and compromising
  • Taking responsibility and ownership of our own roles, and where that line is

Make sure to connect with Meghan below and check out everything she has to offer!
