Why Trying to Hate Your Body Into a Smaller Size is Going to Fail with Lauren Bradley of Fueled Physique

November 1, 2018

If you’ve ever struggled with fat loss, trying to hate your body into a smaller size and feel like you are constantly setting goals that you aren’t able to measure up against, then this is the episode for you.

I’m interviewing Lauren Bradley, who is a personal trainer turned online health and nutrition coach helping women end the war with food and their body so they can live a life they love in a body they love. She believes that a balanced diet is good for the body and also good for the soul, and teaches her clients the importance of enjoying the way they eat so they can have long-term success. Lauren is no stranger to the negative effects of diet culture and struggled with binge eating for years before finally turning it all around and began living her casually fit lifestyle. Lauren’s goal and passion is to help women change the way they think and feel about food and their body so they can achieve ultimate food freedom.

I absolutely loved this conversation with Lauren, and we covered a LOT of ground.

[post continued below]

One of the things I loved most about this episode is Lauren’s unique perspective on perfectionism and what it means to be a perfectionist.  So many of us identify with being a perfectionist (including me!), yet Lauren’s view is that perfectionists don’t exist.  When you hear her reasoning, it’s going to blow your mind 😉

Other key areas covered in this interview with Lauren:

  • Perfectionism = Self-sabotage
  • What it means to be “casually fit” and to enjoy a lifestyle set up around that model
  • Transformations in mental health lead to transformations in physical health
  • Celebrating your wins, no matter how small
  • Figuring out the “why” behind a goal determines whether or not you will succeed
  • Fat loss vs. positive body image, and if they are as separate as we think they are
  • Why trying to hate your body into a smaller size will end in failure
  • Taking action and moving past the stories we tell ourselves that hold us back

This episode is packed with a new way of thinking about how to handle everything from the way you think about food and exercise, to changing the way you set goals in your life.  Give it a listen and please share with a strong woman in your life who needs to hear this message!
